SOFTBALL
The Red Demons came up just short against their Western Athletic Conference rivals Garden City in both games of Tuesday’s doubleheader.
Dodge City fell to the Buffaloes in a closely contested game one 3-1 and 6-1 in game two. The Red Demons will host Great Bend on Thursday for a doubleheader that has been postponed twice this season due to inclement weather.
GOLF
The Dodge City High School boys golf team had two individuals earn individual medals as the Red Demons finished in third place on Monday at Great Bend.
Matthew Vogel shot a 78 to take home the sixth place individual medal while sophomore Luke Gleason finished four strokes behind Vogel to earn an eighth place medal. The Red Demons tallied a team score of 329, which was seven strokes back of Hays who finished in second place.
The Red Demons will travel to Goddard Eisenhower on Thursday to make up for last week’s tournament in Hutchinson that was postponed due to weather.
