In their only home meet of the season, the Red Demons shot a 406 as a team and finished in sixth place among the 13 team field on Thursday afternoon at Mariah Hills.
Seniors Makena Konrade and Emily Stephenson led the way for Dodge City. Konrade shot a 92 to earn a ninth place individual medal and Stephenson was just behind her with a 93.
“Those are the kind of scores that we need out of those two senior leaders,” Dodge City head coach Jim Mapel said. “They are our strongest returners from last year. So I was really happy that they played well today at home.”
The Red Demons will travel down the road to Garden City on Monday. Mapel hopes that his team can build off of their positive play from Thursday.
“Buffalo Dunes is a challenging golf course,” Mapel said. “That’s good for us, I think we are ready to jump right back in.”

Chesney Moore 109, Ali Phelps 112, Alexis Ontiberos 116, Taylor Starnes 130.
