The Dodge City High School football program will travel to Great Bend this Friday night as the Red Demons meet the Panthers at Panther Stadium on the campus of Great Bend High School.

• This will be the 94th meeting all-time between the two schools, dating back to the 1907 season.
• The teams have met in consecutive seasons beginning with the 1942 season, a 37-0 Red Demon victory. Dodge City leads the series 58-33-2.
• The Red Demons will return home in Week 6 to host the Hays High Indians. Memorial Stadium will be host to the 1991 St. Mary of the Plains Football reunion – celebrating 30 years since the last season of Cavalier Football.
• The KSHSAA released the new football classifications this week for the 2022 & 2023 seasons. Both Wichita Northwest & Wichita Heights will rejoin the 6A ranks. Wichita West will now be 5A.

On Friday, October 8, the Dodge City Red Demons will host the Hays High Indians at Memorial Stadium.

• This fall marks the 30th anniversary of the final season at SMPC.
• At halftime the DCHS Athletic Department will be honoring the 1991 KCAC Co-Champion St. Mary of the Plains College Football Team–and all SMPC Alumni in attendance.
• The SMPC Cavalier Football program either won or shared the KCAC Title in 1989, 1990, & 1991 leading the nation in scoring defense all three years.
• The 1989 Cavalier Team still holds the NAIA national record for scoring defense.
• Souvenir posters and shirts will be sold in the Stadium Team Store to commemorate the event.
• SMPC Alumni in attendance will have the option to sit in a designated seating area on the north end of the west grandstand. A post-game tailgate is also being planned with details available closer to game day.

The Dodge City Red Demons host the #2-ranked (5A) Bishop Carroll Golden Eagles this Friday night for Homecoming at Memorial Stadium.

This will be the fifth meeting all-time between the two schools. Carroll won last year’s contest, 51-20.

Last season was the first time the teams had met in the regular season, as all three previous games between the teams had been played in the playoffs, including a 1970 win by the Demons on their way to the State 4A Championship.

The overall series is tied at 2-2. This is the last game in the current cycle, as Junction City will take the place of Carroll on the DCHS football schedule next year.

The Red Demons come into the game at 3-0, while Bishop Carroll, 2-1, suffered their first loss of the season on Friday night to #1 (6A) Derby by a score of 44-36.

The Dodge City Red Demons travel to Carpenter Stadium on the campus of Wichita South High School to take on the Titans this Friday night.

• This will be the sixth meeting all-time between the two schools, and the first since 2017.
• The Red Demons have won five of the six meetings between the schools, defeating the Titans 61-6 in their last meeting in 2017. The lone South victory was in 1977, a 7-0 win for the Titans.
• The Red Demons return home next Friday night for Homecoming matchup with #3 (5A) ranked Bishop Carroll. South lost to Carrol in week two by a score of 35-6. Carrol plays #1 (6A) Derby this Friday night.
• Dodge City won their conference opener vs Liberal last week by a score of 48-12.
• The Red Demons will play the same number, four, of Greater Wichita Athletic League teams during the regular season as they do Western Athletic Conference teams.

The Dodge City High School Red Demons will host the Liberal High School Redskins this Friday night at Memorial Stadium in an early-season WAC matchup.

This is the 95th meeting in this storied rivalry. The series was not played from 1949 – 1956, but, excluding these dates, has bee played every year since 1919. Dodge City leads the series 53-38-3.

Dodge City has won three straight in the series, and six of the last seven contests versus Liberal.

Both Dodge City and Liberal come into the game 1-0 after season-opening wins against Wichita West and Guymon.

This Friday night is the annual Song of Honor game. This year’s inductees are Admiral John Gingrich and Grace Gwinner, author of the DCHS school song, Dodge High Forever.

Friday is also Business Appreciation Night at Red Demon Football.

Next week Dodge City will travel to Wichita South for their second, of four, GWAL matchups this season.
