The Dodge City Red Demons boys and girls bowling teams finished up their team seasons Thursday, finishing fourth on the girls side and seventh on the boys at the team’s Regional.
The event took place at Spare Tyme Bowl in Dodge City.
The boys team finished with a team score of 2868, while the girls finished with a team score of 2897, just 31 points behind Wichita Northwest’s 2928.
The finishes mean the teams themselves won’t be going to state as teams. That doesn’t mean, however, that no Red Demons will be present at the State event.
Dodge City’s Makayla Burton finished with a score of 623, winning the event on the girls side. Because she was in the top six scorers not on a state-qualifying team, she’ll go as an
individual.
So will Dodge City’s Ryan Burton, who bowled a 618 Thursday.
State Bowling is scheduled to take place at Wichita-Northrock Lanes in Wichita, Kansas on March 1, 2018.
