Lady Demon top Andale
The Dodge City High School girls basketball team bounced back from a rough tournament opener in McPherson with a 41-32 win over Andale.
After recent offensive struggles, the Red Demons were able to find more of a rhythm on Friday afternoon. The Dodge City girls were 15-of-34 from the field with senior Tia Bradshaw leading the way with 13 points.
The Red Demons will take on Hays in their final game of the McPherson Invitational on Saturday. Tipoff for the fifth place game is scheduled for 3:45 p.m.
Dodge City boys fall to Hays
The Red Demons boys fell to Hays 66-54 on Friday night in their first game since the Tournament of Champions.
It was a 16-0 run by the Indians in the first half that helped Hays seize control of the game.
Dodge City (2-10, 1-2) will travel to Garden City next Tuesday.

Lady Demons drop Nail-biter to Hays
The Red Demons ended their week at the McPherson Invitational Tournament with a 28-25 loss to Hays.
In the low-scoring loss, the two teams traded the lead seven times to go along with six ties. Dodge City led 23-21 with 3 minutes to play but a 7-2 run by the Indians was enough to propel Hays to the win.
Senior Tia Bradshaw, who earned all-tournament honors, led Dodge City with 12 points. Bradshaw tallied 43 points at the tournament.
The two teams will meet for the third time this season on Feb. 21. The Red Demons will take on Garden City on Tuesday night
