The Dodge City High School Red Demons tennis team competed in a challenging quad against Great Bend, Hays, and Beloit, earning a second-place team finish with 15 points.
At #1 singles, Valeria Reyes turned in a dominant 8–0 victory over Beloit before falling to strong opponents from Great Bend and Hays, finishing with a 1–2 record. In #2 singles, Marisol Banuelos matched that mark with a solid 8–2 win against Beloit, while battling hard in matches against Great Bend and Hays.
In doubles play, Katie Rouse and Yaremy Macias competed well at #1 doubles, opening with an 8–1 win over Beloit and narrowly falling to Hays in a tight 8–6 match, also finishing 1–2. The highlight of the day came at #2 doubles, where Addisyn Taylor and Emma Bell posted an impressive 2–1 record. The duo collected wins over Beloit (8–1) and Hays in a thrilling 8–7 (2) tiebreaker, while dropping only a close 8–5 match to Great Bend.
As a team, Dodge City tallied 15 points to place second overall behind Great Bend, who won the event with 30 points. Hays finished third with 12, and Beloit rounded out the standings with 2. The Red Demons’ young lineup demonstrated strong potential, with Taylor and Bell’s clutch performance at #2 doubles standing out as a key highlight of the competition.
