The Dodge City High School Red Demons delivered one of their most complete performances of the season Thursday night, defeating the Guymon High School Tigers 73-47 to move to 10-9 on the year.
From the opening tip, Dodge City set the tone with energy, pace and defensive pressure. The Red Demons jumped out to a 22-12 first-quarter lead and never looked back, building a 42-28 advantage by halftime. A dominant third quarter — outscoring Guymon 20-8 — put the game out of reach.
The Red Demons’ offensive balance and defensive intensity were the difference. Dodge City forced 20 turnovers and converted them into 25 points, while also holding Guymon to just 28.6 percent shooting in the second half.
Cru Lembright sparked the offense with 18 points, knocking down five three-pointers and finishing a perfect 3-of-3 from the free-throw line. His perimeter shooting stretched Guymon’s defense early and created space for the Red Demons to attack.

Ty Scheck added 13 points and went 6-of-7 at the free-throw line, while Tyler Presley provided an efficient 10 points on 5-of-8 shooting in limited minutes.
Reis Ochs filled the stat sheet with eight points, nine rebounds and six assists, helping Dodge City control the tempo and dominate the glass. The Red Demons outrebounded Guymon 37-30 and held an 80.6 percent defensive rebounding rate.
Depth played a major role in the win. Dodge City’s bench outscored Guymon’s reserves 29-13, highlighted by six points each from Yaasir Mohammed and Rase Smith, along with five from Dominik Woods.
The Red Demons were also efficient at the free-throw line, converting 19-of-24 attempts (79.2 percent). That aggressiveness attacking the rim helped build a 19-5 advantage in free-throw points.
Guymon was led by Love with 25 points, but Dodge City limited supporting production and consistently disrupted the Tigers’ offensive flow.
Dodge City finished with 19 assists on 23 made field goals, showing strong ball movement and unselfish play. The Red Demons also posted a 1.12 points-per-possession mark, a sign of offensive efficiency that has been building in recent weeks.
After hovering around .500 for much of the season, the Red Demons now sit at 10-9 with momentum heading into the stretch run. If they continue to defend, share the basketball and capitalize at the free-throw line like they did Thursday night, they’ll be a tough matchup for anyone down the stretch.
