Red Demons relay team, Weckerle qualify for state. Magouirk swims consideration time

Friday was a good day for the Dodge City Red Demons girls swim team.
Multiple girls swam best times in the team’s meet at Salina Central High School, head coach Kaitlyn Paul said.
The team’s 400 meter relay team officially qualified for state, as did Lea Weckerle, who qualified in the 100 fly and 100 backstroke. Payton Magouirk also got a state consideration time in the 100 meter freestyle, Paul said. Overall, the team took third with 221 points, finishing behind McPherson who ended with 489 points, and Great Bend who finished with 500.
Here are the individual results from each event for the Red Demons:
200 meter Medley Relay – Third place: Abby Harding, Hayden Sanchez, Lea Weckerle and Payton Magouirk
– 14th place: Mackenna Spencer, Taylor Starnes, Alexandra Bautista and Alexandra Sandoval
