On Tuesday, December 5th, the Dodge City High School swim team showcased their talent and determination at the Great Bend Invitational. Competing against six other teams, the Dodge City team demonstrated their skill and sportsmanship, ultimately finishing 5th overall. The Red Demons competed in their second meet of the season and continue to improve their times in each race.
Event Highlights:
Men 200 Yard Medley:
- The team secured a commendable 5th place with a time of 2:15.99.
- The quartet consisting of Jacoby Sutton (FR), Inigo Muriel Lopez (JR), Jordan Schneweis (SO), and Andrew Pelton (JR) showcased excellent teamwork.
Men 200 Yard Freestyle:
- Jeiner Pinto Menendez impressed with his performance, finishing 9th with a time of 2:52.82.
Men 50 Yard Freestyle:
- Inigo Muriel Lopez claimed the 8th place with a swift time of 26.48.
- Andrew Pelton and Jacoby Sutton also demonstrated their skills, securing the 14th and 17th positions, respectively.
Men 100 Yard Freestyle:
- Andrew Pelton showcased his prowess, finishing 11th with a time of 1:07.28.
- Jeiner Pinto Menendez also displayed a strong performance in this event.
Men 200 Yard Freestyle Relay:
- The “A” team secured the 7th place with a time of 2:02.00, highlighting the collaborative efforts of Jordan Schneweis, Andrew Pelton, Jeiner Pinto Menendez, and Inigo Muriel Lopez.
- The “B” team also participated admirably, finishing 11th with a time of 2:39.14.
Men 100 Yard Backstroke:
- Jacoby Sutton exhibited his backstroke skills, securing the 7th position with a time of 1:32.23.
- Easton Steiner also contributed to the team’s success in this event.
Men 100 Yard Breaststroke:
- Inigo Muriel Lopez shone in the breaststroke, claiming the 2nd position with an impressive time of 1:17.26.
- Jordan Schneweis and Markus Noe also demonstrated their prowess in the breaststroke, finishing 11th and 14th, respectively.
Men 400 Yard Freestyle Relay:
- The “A” team closed the meet with an 8th place finish in the 400 Yard Freestyle Relay, clocking in at 6:04.07. The team included Jeiner Pinto Menendez, Andrew Kimball, Easton Steiner, and Tyce Portenier.
