The Dodge City Red Demon boys basketball team kicked off the 2025–26 season with an energetic and promising opening week, showing skill, teamwork, and potential for an exciting season ahead.
Dodge City vs. Wichita West — December 2, 2025
Final: Wichita West 85, Dodge City 82
The Red Demons opened the season with a fast-paced, competitive game against Wichita West. The team showcased their offensive firepower and tenacity, pushing the Pioneers to the final moments in a thrilling matchup.
Senior Ty Scheck led the way with 39 points, including five three-pointers and 10 rebounds, demonstrating his versatility and leadership. Cru Lembright recorded a double-double with 14 points and 11 rebounds, while Isai Reyes contributed 6 points, 4 assists, and 4 steals, making an impact on both ends of the floor.

The team’s shooting was strong early, hitting eight three-pointers in the first half and shooting 57% from the field, taking a 52–43 lead into halftime. Dodge City’s energy and effort throughout the game set the tone for the season and gave fans plenty to be excited about.
Dodge City vs. Spearville — December 6, 2025
Final: Dodge City 81, Spearville 45
The Red Demons followed up with a confident and well-rounded performance against Spearville, securing their first win of the season. Dodge City dominated on both ends of the court, combining strong defense with balanced scoring.
Senior Isai Reyes had a perfect shooting night, scoring 16 points, while Ty Scheck added 15 points. Cru Lembright and Jaiden Garcia helped keep the offense flowing, contributing both scoring and playmaking.

The Red Demons showcased depth and teamwork, with nine players scoring and the bench contributing 39 points. The team forced 27 turnovers, converting them into fast-break points and controlling the pace of the game. Dodge City shot 53.6% from the field and an impressive 44% from three, highlighting efficient and disciplined offensive execution.
