The Dodge City wrestling team finished fourth at the Bishop Carroll Invitational last Saturday.
Overall, head coach Lars Lueders said the team wrestled extremely well. Here are some of his notes from the event:
– We finished right behind No. 2 (6A) Topeka Washburn Rural and ahead of No. 7 (6A) Campus, No. 9 (6A) Wichita South, and No. 10 (5A) Bishop Carroll, even with 5 starters out of the lineup.
– Anthony Mariche pinned No. 3 (6A) Bishop Murray (Topeka Washburn Rural) in the finals.
– Ansony Quezada pinned No. 1 (6A) Gavin Carter (Topeka Washburn Rural) in the semifinals.
– Evan Darville beat No. 5 (6A) Marcus Hicks (Wichita Northwest) in the fifth place match.
