On Friday, September 5th, the Red Demons put on a commanding performance to defeat the Woodward Boomers 28-3. The Demons jumped out to an early lead, scoring 14 points in the first quarter. Kordell Howard opened the scoring with a 13-yard touchdown run, followed by a key interception by Adam Kisner, which set up Fabian Ortiz’s 2-yard touchdown run, giving DC a 14-0 advantage.
In the second quarter, the Red Demons continued to apply pressure. Tyjour Hooke punched in a 10-yard touchdown run, while Woodward managed a field goal just before halftime, sending the teams to the locker room with DC leading 21-3.
The third quarter featured another highlight from the Red Demons as Ty Scheck rushed 23 yards for a touchdown. Driving rain in the second half made conditions difficult, but the Red Demons’ defense held strong to secure the 28-3 victory.
With this win, the Red Demons continue to show early-season dominance and a balanced attack on both sides of the ball. They take on Olathe East on Friday this week for the Home Opener.
