On Friday, Jan. 8, Dodge City Red Demon Boys Basketball went head to head against the Colby Eagles at the Fieldhouse with a winning score of 69-47. Ten different players scored throughout the night for the Demons with senior, Matt Friess leading with 18 points and sophomore Cooper Loll (#2) and junior Cooper Scheck (#11) both right behind him, scoring 12 points each.
Through the first and second quarters, the teams were closely matched at 15-14 to end the first and tied up 27-27 at the half. The Demons quickly took control of the game, with Cooper Scheck scoring a three-point shot within the third quarter’s first 30 seconds. With 16 points scored in the second half, the Red Demons ended with a final score of 69-47.
“Our performance Friday night was great. Energy played a big part in the game as well as all of our games. Without any fans, energy is all we have, and it is good enough to motivate our guys to play to the best of our abilities,” said Friess. The boys’ next game will be 7:30 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 12, against the Guymon Tigers at Guymon High School.
