Lady Demons fall to Hays

The Dodge City Lady Demons fell to the Hays Lady Indians Tuesday night by a final score of 48-38.
The Lady Demons led 20-11 at halftime, but got outscored 37-18 in the final two quarters.
Hays was led by Savannah
Schneider, who had a team high 12 points. She also tied Isabel Robben for a team high five rebounds.
Red Demon sophomore Chidera Okoro led all players recording 19 points and 15 rebounds. She also had the lone blocked-shot for Dodge City, and also recored a steal in 28 minutes, 52 seconds of action Tuesday night.
Dodge City committed 21 turnovers to 13 by Hays. Hays outscored Dodge
City in the “points off turnovers” stat 20-8.
The Red Demons boys and girls basketball teams are both in action for their final game of the regular season on Thursday night, when each team hosts the Liberal Redskins in the Dodge City High School Field House.
The girls varsity game is scheduled for 6 p.m., with the boys coming afterward.
Red Demons fall to Hays Tuesday night
The Dodge City Red Demons boys basketball team lost to the Hays Indians Tuesday night by a score of 92-80.

han the Indians, hitting 49 percent to the Indians’ 48 percent, but Hays made six more shots on 16 more attempts Tuesday.
Sophomore John Johnson led the Red Demons with 21 points, five rebounds and three steals. Junior Noah Sowers had 20 points, a team-high eight rebounds and a team-high six assists in Tuesday’s game.
Hays made 11 3-pointers, but Dodge City made 12. Despite that, Hays was able to win in part due to second chance points and points of turnovers. The Indians outscored the Red Demons 26-14 off turnovers and 25-11 on second chances. They also out rebouded the Red Demons 44-31.
It was the third straight loss for the Red Demons who are now 9-10 overall. They take on the Liberal Redskins Thursday night in the Dodge City High School Field House to complete their regular season.
