The Dodge City High School boys cross country team won their third meet this season over the weekend.
The Red Demons scored 51 tea m points at the Newton Invite on Saturday to take first place ahead of Topeka Washburn Rural who finished with 88 points.
Seniors Marcelo Cruz, Jason Luft and Alex Ultreras all finished in the top-10 with Cruz leading the way by finishing in fifth. Javier Marquez and Brett Groth also placed in the top-20.
The Dodge City girls placed fifth amongst the 13 team field at Newton on Saturday. Sophomore Ayanna Hensley led the way with a ninth place finish. Seniors Coral Neave and America Garcia both placed in the top-30 individually.
The cross country teams will have just one meet left before hosting the Western Athletic Conference championships on Oct. 13. Both of the Red Demon teams won WAC titles last season. The girls team is going for their third straight conference championship.
