Bowling: Red Demons varsity girls take first in Great Bend

The Dodge City High School bowling team competed at a triangular event in Great Bend Thursday night. Great Bend and Holcomb were the other schools that competed in the event.
The Red Demons varsity girls team beat both other teams, finishing with a total of 2,391 points. Holcomb and Great Bend had 2,313 and 2,226 respectively. The Lady Demons were lead by Jade Bamberger with 539 series and Makayla Burton with a 538 series. The Lady Demons as a team earn 9 WAC points on the day to Great Bend’s 2.
Dodge City’s boys varsity, boys junior varsity and their girls junior varsity all finished second in their categories. The Red Demon team was lead by Esteban Garcia with a 542 series.
The Bowling team is next in action Tuesday, when they host another triangular event against Holcomb and Liberal. That event will take place at Spare Tyme Bowl, and is scheduled to start at 3 p.m.
