The Dodge City High School Athletic Department has announced that Abraham Rosales has accepted the position of Head Girls Soccer Coach at Dodge City High School – pending BOE approval at the next scheduled meeting.
Coach Rosales was most recently an assistant coach at Dodge City Community College and Head Soccer Coach at DCMS. Abraham is familiar with Dodge City High School – as he served as an assistant coach for Saul Hernandez at DCHS from 2016-2021. He also taught Spanish and SPED at DCHS.
Rosales began his teaching and coaching career at Liberal High School before moving to Dodge City. Rosales received his Bachelor’s degree from West Texas A&M University.
Coach Rosales was offered the position after an extensive screening and interview process that concluded with five finalists. He will be just the fifth coach in Lady Demon Soccer history – a program celebrating 25 years next Spring.
Our leadership team identified key character traits we desired in the candidate selected for this important position. His vision for the program, our student-athletes, and as a member of the Head Coaching staff is very similar to many of the other successful individuals in the department. Coach Rosales brings a fresh approach to the pitch, but we were most impressed with his desire to develop relationships with his players and assistant coaches. The Athletic Department and Administration of Dodge City High School are proud to once again attract such experienced talent to an already excellent teaching staff.”
Jay Gifford, District Athletic Director
The facilities, reputation, and leadership in Dodge City allows for immediate and continued success. However, what inspires me most is the opportunity to develop relationships with student-athletes that will represent their community, school, and families with pride – and make their high school soccer experience fun and meaningful. I look forward to the challenges ahead and joining forces with the coaching staff and the players to continue building upon and further developing the winning tradition of Dodge City High School Lady Demon Soccer.”
