- The Dodge City High School Red Demons will travel to Ulysses to play the Tigers in the last regular season game of the 2020 season.
- Legendary DCHS Coach & 2020 Ring of Honor inductee, Frank Toalson, won the inaugural battle with Ulysses (19-2) in 1931.
- In 1947, Ulysses won the rematch. The game was played as the second half of a doubleheader in which Ulysses defeated Sublette earlier in the day.
- Ulysses is 1-1 against WAC teams this season, defeating Liberal in Week 4 (22-12) and falling to Garden City last week (33-8).
- Dodge City’s loss to Goddard Eisenhower in Week 7 all but eliminated their chance to host a playoff game, but Friday night’s games still has playoff implications for both teams.
- This will be the first game on natural grass for the Red Demons since 2012, a playoff victory versus Manhattan.
