The Dodge City High School Red Demons travel to Topeka on Friday night to take on the Washburn Rural Junior Blues in a first round match up of the 6A KSHSAA playoffs, West Regional.
- Washburn Rural (6-2) is the #6 seed-while Dodge City (4-4) is the #11 seed.
- Rural and Dodge City have met only twice.
- Rural won 17-14, overcoming a 14-3 halftime lead by the Demons in the 1992 State Semifinals, and the Junior Blues also defeated the Red Demons in the 2016 Playoffs by a score of 27-15.
- The winner of Friday night’s game will likely face Garden City in the second round of the playoffs.
