The Dodge City Tournament of Champions… the Longest Running Invitational Tournament West of the Mississippi!
The Tournament of Champions will look different in 2021, but the streak of seventy-eight straight tournaments will remain alive with an adjusted schedule that will limit travel and eliminate overnight stays while still providing many of the traditions associated with the tournament.
The tournament will not follow the normal Thursday through Saturday format. Games will begin on Tuesday night at home sites. On Thursday night, Dodge City will host the Semifinal games while consolation games are held at home sites on Thursday, Friday and Saturday. On Saturday, the Championship and 3rd Place Games will be played in Dodge City. All games in Dodge City will be played at Dodge City High School.
The Dodge City Pep Band, Drill Team, and Cheerleaders will perform at all Dodge City games, Semifinal games, and during the Championship Game. The National Anthem will be performed by DCHS students before each Final Four game.
Western Plains Medical Complex is the Tournament Sponsor for the tenth straight year and will participate in presenting the Championship Trophy on Saturday. Other awards include medals to Top 3 Teams – presented by Kiwanis Club, All-Tournament Basketball Team – presented by DCHS Alumni Association, Most Inspirational Player – presented by DCHS, and All-Academic Awards – presented by the Rotary Club.
