Demon bowlers to host Garden

The Dodge City High School bowling team will return to Spare Tyme Bowl on Thursday afternoon when the Red Demons host Western Athletic Conference rival Garden City.
On Tuesday the Dodge City girls topped Liberal by 70 total pins, finishing with a final total score of 2286. Once again it was junior Makayla Burton who led the way for the Red Demons. Burton took first overall individually with a series score of 539. Jade Bamberger also finished in the top five, earning fourth place.
The Dodge City boys fell to the Redskins. Senior Zachary Ridgeway was the only Red Demon who finished in the top five, finishing third.
The Red Demons traveled to Goddard Eisenhower on Friday where the Dodge City girls placed third and the boys fourth among the four-team field. Erick Villa-Valverde had one of his best performances of the season by bowling a 604 series score and taking third individually.
Thursday’s action will begin at 3 p.m.
