The Red Demons travel to Friends University to take on the Wichita West Pioneers to open the 2021 Season,
- This will be the 22nd meeting between the two schools, with the first game played in 1976.
- The Red Demons and Pioneers are tied for the longest winning streak in the series at five, with the Demons winning consecutive games from 1997-1992, and the Pioneers winning games from 1993-2001.
- The Red Demons defeated the Pioneers 35-14 in their last meeting, in 2019.
- Dodge City Head Coach, Glenn O’Neil will be making his Red Demon debut on Friday night. O’Neil is the 32nd Head Coach to lead the Red demon football program, but only the 10th to hold the position since 1948.
- Reverend Westwood was the first coach for DCHS in 1898, and coached for only one season.
