Lady Demons Drop Non-Conference Game to Woodward
In their season opening game at the DCHS Fieldhouse, the Lady Boomers secured a hard-fought victory against the host Lady Demons. The game stayed close throughout as the Lady Demons played from behind the entire second half.
The Lady Demons took an early lead – with the score of 9-8 at the end of the first quarter. The Lady Boomers, however, quickly turned the tide with a big second quarter leading at the half by a score of 29-20.
Despite a valiant second half effort from the Lady Demons, the Lady Boomers maintained their advantage until the final buzzer. The Lady Demons managed to close the gap at times in the fourth quarter, but the Lady Boomers’ seemed to have an answer each time. The Lady Demons fought hard, with freshman Jersey Bogner scoring a career high 11 points to keep Dodge City within striking distance. Easha Potts finished with a team high 12 points.
The Lady Demons fall to (1-3) on the season while the victory proved a tough road win for the Lady Boomers. Dodge City is next in action this weekend in Wichita for the City League Challenge. The Lady Demons face Wichita Northwest at 1p. The next home action is next Tuesday night against Ulysses. Next Tuesday marks the last game before the Christmas break – and will feature a Christmas themed give away for Red Demon fans in attendance.
