The Final Four of the 78th Annual Tournament of Champions took place at the Dodge City High School Fieldhouse, Thursday, Jan. 21, and Saturday, Jan. 23.
The teams that participated in the final four were the Bishop Carroll Golden Eagles, the Dodge City Red Demons, the Goddard Eisenhower Tigers, and the Junction City Bluejays.
Bishop Carroll punched its ticket first to the championship game with a 64-45 win over Goddard Eisenhower. Junction City also moved on to the championship game with a close 52-48 win over Dodge City.
On Saturday, Jan. 23, the Dodge City Red Demons went against the Goddard Eisenhower Tigers in the third-place game. With only a one-point lead at the half, the Red Demons pulled away for a 50-37 win over the Tigers, as well as third place in the tournament. Junction City went up against Bishop Carroll for the Championship game. For most of the game, the Golden Eagles were in control, with their largest lead reaching 19 points. Winning the game with a score of 61-46, the Bishop Carroll Golden Eagles claimed the 78th Annual TOC Championship title.
